North Carolina quarterback Bryn Renner has fielded the same questions for about a month now. Most of those questions have been about UNC’s season-opening game at No. 6 South Carolina and, specifically, how the team will manage to stop defensive freak of nature Jadeveon Clowney — a defensive end who did … well … this. But on Friday, in a media gathering at the Kenan Football Center, Renner had the chance to finally answer some different questions, questions he hasn’t heard time and time again.

Football notebook: August 14

The North Carolina football team has held sixteen practices since beginning camp on August 1st, but the Tar Heels aren’t acting like it. Instead of looking exhausted and bogged down by two-a-days and constant conditioning, UNC’s players were filled with energy Wednesday morning at practice. Players like 5-foot-10 true freshman Ryan Switzer were dancing and singing to the music being blasted at practice in-between reps — not something you’d expect from anyone on hump day. “(There was a) great energy level today,” coach Larry Fedora said.

Football notebook: August 7

North Carolina football coach Larry Fedora has preached the necessity of depth for his Tar Heel team since practices began a week ago. But with eight practices now complete, the Tar Heels have begun to lose some of that depth due to three season ending injuries.

Football notebook: first day of practice

The first day of practice is just like Christmas for North Carolina football coach Larry Fedora. It has all the excitement of players buckling up a chinstrap for the first time in months combined with the clapping of shoulder pads.
