UNC set a school scored for most points scored in a loss with 50.

At half, UNC on top of Stanford 2-0

UNC leading Gardner-Webb at the break

After trailing early, the North Carolina men’s basketball team took control of the game with a quick run that turned a three-point lead into an 11-point lead. UNC took the 30-22 lead as the final media timeout of the half was taken.

Halftime Update: UNC women's basketball leads Davidson 33-24

Both teams got off to a slow start offensively in the opening round matchup of the 2012 preseason Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). Following three ties and two lead changes, the Wildcats put together a 7-2 run, scoring in three straight possessions. After taking time to regroup in a timeout, the Tar Heels answered the Wildcats with a run themselves.
