The North Carolina men’s soccer team is scoreless with Wofford after 45 minutes of play. The Tar Heels are playing one man down after junior forward Andy Craven was shown a red card in the 15th minute.

Welcome to another edition of Tracking the Tar Heels. Here’s what the Tar Heels have been up to: After sitting out the last two games, UNC tailback Giovani Bernard was finally back in action Saturday as the Tar Heels took down East Carolina, David Adler writes.

When the North Carolina starting lineup was announced just prior to Saturday’s football game against East Carolina, a familiar face popped up on the Kenan Stadium video board — but not necessarily one that people expected to see. Running back Giovani Bernard, who was held out of UNC’s previous two games with a nagging knee injury, was back on the field for the Tar Heels.
After a disastrous first half against Louisville last week that left North Carolina trailing 36-7 at halftime, the Tar Heels got off to a better start against East Carolina, leading 10-6 at halftime. Though the teams traded punts on each of the first three drives of the game, UNC overcame dismal field positon on its second drive to convert an 11-play, 91-yard drive, which ended with a 14-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Bryn Renner to running back Giovani Bernard. Bernard, who returned after missing two games with a knee injury, had seven yards rushing and 36 yards receiving on the drive, including a 30-yard catch that ushered the Tar Heels into the red zone.
The North Carolina volleyball team had its share of supporters Friday night in Carmichael Arena, even with a NSCAA Game of the Week soccer game taking place just outside of the doors.
