Top Quotes of 2009, Part I: Chris Johnson

ESPN.com's Thomas Neumann recently did a pretty humorous bit on athletes' Top 50 Quotes of the Year for 2009.His compilation of sounds bites was almost flawless, but noticeably absent from that list was Chris Johnson, the Pro Bowl running back for the Tennessee Titans.


UNC leads Rutgers 39-33 at half

No. 10 North Carolina leads Rutgers by six after 20 minutes of play. The Tar Heels are missing Marcus Ginyard, who is sitting out tonight's game with a sprained ankle.  Rutgers' Michael Rosario leads all scorers with 13 points. Will Graves has 10 for UNC on 3-for-5 shooting.


Women's basketball looks to rebound from Michigan State loss

Mark Thompson and I are gracing the Smith Center for an afternoon contest between North Carolina and St. John's.The Tar Heels are looking to respond from a loss to Michigan State on Thursday night in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Despite a career-high 29 points from Italee Lucas, UNC just couldn't pull out the road win.

The NBA season is just getting underway, and UNC alumni are making an impact across the pros.Ty LawsonLawson had a MONSTER game Wednesday against the Nuggets, shooting 9-10 from the floor including a perfect 3-3 from 3-point land.

Virginia Tech leads UNC 24-3 at half

North Carolina’s return to Kenan Stadium after an 0-2 road trip should have been comforting. But with an offense that failed to move the ball and a defense that continuously shot itself in the foot in the first half, they were anything but comfortable.
