Three future UNC men’s basketball players were named to the prestigious McDonald’s All-American Games on Tuesday night, along with one of the Tar Heels’ top recruiting targets.
Men’s basketball signees Joel Berry (Orlando, Fla.), Justin Jackson (Kimball, Texas) and Theo Pinson (Greensboro) were selected to the game, which honors 24 of the nation’s top high school seniors.
The game will be played on April 2nd at the United Center in Chicago and will be televised on ESPNU. The girls’ game tips at 7 p.m. EST and the boys’ game will begin at 9:30 p.m.
Pinson and Jackson will play for the East squad while Berry will play for the West.
UNC target Rashad Vaughn (New Hope, Minn.) was also selected to the squad for the men’s game. Vaughn holds a UNC scholarship offer and will take an official visit to Chapel Hill starting on February 15th.
Vaughn — whose list of finalists includes Iowa State, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina and UNLV — had originally scheduled his UNC official visit to be in September, but postponed that visit. The postponement was due to the fact that Vaughn wanted to watch a basketball game while on campus, his coach told DTH.
