It's Friday, y'all, and thank God because that means that this week is almost over. The weekend is a good time for sleeping and other fun things. It's also a good time to check in with your friends. This week, our friends have been loving Carly Rae Jepson's new album, Emotion (these friends just happen to work at the DTH). Columnist, half of Having it All and overall gem Alice Wilder reviewed Emotion track-by-track. Not to be outdone (and following the advice of Alice), Design & Graphics editor and constant delight José Valle live tweeted his track-by-track listening experience.
1. Run Away With Me
This song is a night in high school when your best friend gets their license and picks you up late at night to drive to Taco Bell and you first realize what it means to drive at night, stereo blasting, with someone you love.
Run Away With Me = Fave. *insert funky sax sounds*

2. Emotion
This song is a day when you look particularly babely and run into someone you used to date.
Emotion = Much better on second listen. I approve.

3. I Really Like You
This song is the walk home after a really really good first date when you allow yourself to imagine all of the myriad things that might happen next.
I Really Like You = I really really really really really really like this.

4. Gimmie Love
This song is having a professor who is that perfect combination of smart, and charismatic but you were late to class one day and convince yourself that they probably think you’re a slacker.
Gimmie Love = Gimmie another listen because wow it's repetitive af but so catchy.

5. All That
This song is when you’re walking home from the UL at 5 a.m. and questioning every life decision that lead you to that moment, but in a romantic way.
All That = Very much slow. Very much sleep. Very much not all that I wanna listen to.
— José Valle (@jmv0823) August 28, 2015
6. Boy Problems
When you’re debating about whether or not to break up with someone and then in an instant decide, “yeah, this is over” and feel a wave of relief.
Boy Problems = Who's got 'em? Lots of people apparently. 95% great song. 5% pure fact.
— José Valle (@jmv0823) August 28, 2015
7. Making the Most of the Night
This song is when you’re a first year without a car and an upperclassman friend whisks you away for a trip to Cook-Out.
Making The Most of The Night = These weird-ass key changes are making me hella uncomfy. How am I supposed to feel about this?
— José Valle (@jmv0823) August 28, 2015
8. Your Type
This song is when you find out the hottest person in your recitation already has a boo.
Your Type = I'm not the type to normally like pop this slow but ok I can get into this for sure.
— José Valle (@jmv0823) August 28, 2015
9. Let's Get Lost
This is a song for the first time you had to find your way to the Genome Sciences Building.
Let's Get Lost = I was ready to say that this should get lost from the album (because I'm clever) but nevermind I dig it too much.
— José Valle (@jmv0823) August 28, 2015
10. LA Hallucinations
When that direct deposit comes through and you can finally go to the grocery store and splurge on a carton of ice cream.
LA Hallucinations = I'm sorry what
— José Valle (@jmv0823) August 28, 2015
11. Warm Blood
This song is when a big golden retriever bounding through the quad and you’re praying that its owner will let you pet it.
Warm Blood = Since when is Carly a vampire
— José Valle (@jmv0823) August 28, 2015
12. When I Needed You
This song is for when someone in your group project leaves you hanging and then asks for your notes at the end of the semester.
When I Need You = I relate way too much to this one. It's just what I needed.
— José Valle (@jmv0823) August 28, 2015
13. Black Heart
(Editor's notes: I am sorry, this was the only video I could find of this song)
This song is for the walk to a first date that you’ve been looking forward to all week.
Black Heart = I wanna say she's struck gold on this one, but... eh.
— José Valle (@jmv0823) August 28, 2015
14. I Didn't Just Come Here to Dance
This song is that part of a party where everyone stops trying to look cute while dancing and just lets loose.
I Didn't Just Come Here To Dance = This title's ironic because it's all I wanna do. I don't really know what she means but I wanna groove.
— José Valle (@jmv0823) August 28, 2015
15. Favorite Colour
This song is about the way it feels to come back to Chapel Hill after a long time in another (lesser) city.
Favourite Color = Not my favourite but I would play it again.
— José Valle (@jmv0823) August 28, 2015
In conclusion?
Carly Rae Jepsen's new record "Emotion" is pure fun to listen to, and each song tells a vivid story.
All right CRJ thank you for making me feel emotions but def not the best pop album of the year. #sorrynotsorry #FROOT4ever
