Leaders discuss global warming

The world’s most powerful economies met again to discuss ways to curb the effects of global climate change on Monday in London.

Global climate change is an increasingly pressing issue, and the U.S. is still considered as the country most responsible for the increase in carbon emissions.

However, officials stated that developing countries will be increasing emissions the most in the future, generating approximately two-thirds of the world’s emissions by 2030.

What you're saying:

“I think global warming is the most important environmental issue because
it is affecting the whole world and everybody should do something to change it." - Tristan Green, freshman, undecided

“I think global warming definitely is the most serious issue. I think
that we live as consumers, and we forget about producing since we are
running out of natural resources. We need to be more mindful of little
things like recycling."- Linzie Gray, sophomore, african american studies and sociology double major.

“I think we should be setting an example. We have a lot more resources than other parts of the world, as well as the ability to do more research. Essentially, we have more capability to go out and do what needs to get done." - Patrick Vanderjeugdt, freshman, bio-engineering.

“When it comes to global warming, we should take some steps to improve it such as changing our business practices. But we shouldn’t spend too much money on it right now since we are in a war."- Bennett Wyker,
sophomore, business and spanish double major.

“We need to start on an individual basis and then look at global aspects. We shouldn’t always look at the government to solve all our issues. I think we have the resources and the economic influence to make a difference, but I think that smaller nations will take the initiative." - Paige Culbreth, sophomore, nursing.
