The Carolina Athletic Association announced last week changes to their basketball ticket distribution policy. Students will now receive one ticket if they win the lottery, in place of last year's policy of awarding two tickets per student.
What you're saying:
"I think it makes sense because I knew people who had an extra ticket and didn't give it away, and I also noticed the student section wasn't being filled on a consistent basis." - Colin Burkitt, senior, spanish and philosophy
"I guess there's two sides to every story. It was annoying last year how hard it was to get tickets. It's logical because UNC basketball is popular and it's so hard to get tickets, so with higher chances of getting tickets it's more likely you and your friends will get tickets. It's fair. I think it's a good thing, it's challenging, and it's a fairer playing field." -Will Davis, sophomore, journalism
"It's a little harsh. Well, if you wanted to go with groups of people and just one of you got one ticket, especially with sports, it's better with people you know. It's better to enjoy sports with people you know and the policy isn't encouraging that."-Alex Taylor, sophomore, english
"I think it's cool because more students get tickets but I'm kind of pissed because seniors don't get two Duke tickets." -Brandon Gibbs, senior, comparative literature
"No, I don't like that, I don't understand why they'd do that. If one person only gets one ticket, not a lot of people will show up to the games."-Devin Tempton, sophomore, biology
