A disgruntled Tar Heels fan has put his loyalty to the men’s basketball team up for bidding on eBay as of Wednesday.
Despite two recent UNC victories by a combined 52 points, culminating in the team’s second foray into the AP top 25 this season, the unidentified fan says he can’t deal with supporting the team anymore.
“They are getting to be more than I can handle,” he wrote.
He’s set the starting bid at $250, but has yet to receive an offer.
The 22-year-old assures bidders that they are not bidding on him, but rather his loyalty to the team of their choosing, and that he will use the money to purchase t-shirts and gear supporting his new team.
Despite an in-depth investigation into the football team resulting in several suspensions and dismissals, it appears the fan is singling out the basketball team, claiming head coach Roy Williams is part of his decision to switch loyalties.
“Roy Williams is not treating the fans how they should be treated,” he wrote. “I am sick of him.”
