Syd’s hair shop, located on Rosemary Street, makes hair humanitarian.
The salon sponsors quarterly fundraisers where 100 percent of profits from cuts and color go towards a charity, usually local.
The next fundraiser, happening this Sunday, April 3, from noon to 4:00 p.m., was originally planned to support Donnerschoose.org, which helps local schools.
However, in light of the recent catastrophe in Japan, plans were changed to put the profits towards NC Japan Center at North Carolina State University.
Syd’s raises an average of $1500 each time.
“Stylists volunteer their time, which I think is just wonderful,” Bradford Scott, an owner, said.
Currently, only men’s slots are available for this Sunday. Interested in getting a haircut for charity? The date for the next fundraiser will be located on the website
