It’s the most wonderful time of the year… almost. Unfortunately, there are a few exams to get out of the way first, and let’s face it — studying is a drag. It’s important to keep in mind that study breaks are necessary to surviving the next few weeks, or else you just might freak out.
Luckily, there are some good ways to take a moment and chill.
Take a walk around campus
Maybe it’s not the most exciting thing to do, but you can take a new path and see parts of campus you haven’t seen before. Plus, it’s good exercise.
Watch a movie
Hit up Netflix, check out your community office’s collection or visit the MRC and take your mind off of things. Watching a movie is a good way to place your focus on something else for a few hours.
Make holiday crafts
After all, Christmas is just right around the corner. Get a head start on those gifts and make your friends and family some awesome creations. Make paper or glass ornaments, or bake some holiday treats.
Have a de-stress box ready
This one might cost a little bit of money, but having some random distractions ready to go can definitely help. I suggest coloring books, bored games, fake mustaches, frisbees and silly string. You can get all of this from the nearest dollar store.
Hit the mall
Take the bus and head over to Southpoint for a little while. You can just walk around or do a bit of Christmas shopping. After all, a little retail therapy never hurt anybody.
