Mad Lib: A journey through finals

The end is near. The end of the semester, that is. Finals are approaching, so grab a buddy and battle through the chaos of this fun game to take a load off before exams. Good luck, Heels!


The Bell Tower tolled at ________ (time) and the skies darkened. It began to rain ________ (plural n.) as you and your friend left ________ (residence hall) to get to your ________ (least favorite class) final.

You studied for ________ (duration of time) for this moment, but wouldn’t let this monsoon of ________ (last plural n.) get between you and a(n) ________ (adj.) grade. An apocalypse seemed to be coming to ________ (place name), and your friend noticed.

“Quick, the P2P!” he said in attempt to avoid the ________ (adj.) rain. You ________ (verb) after him when lightning suddenly struck ________ (school landmark).

A(n) ________ (negative adj.) force following the lightning went throughout ________ (place), bringing every test material to life. The transfigured bluebooks and scantrons heard ________ (best rapper) from nearby headphones and started spitting ________ (adj.) bars.

“A hundred multiple choice, what a pain / Oral ________ (type of test) with no voice, this is insane,” one bluebook fired at two ________ (adj.) first-years.

Something had to be done to save the campus. In the ________ (place), you see a scampering ________ (small animal) with a No. 2 pencil in its mouth. You leave behind ________ (male friend’s name), who lost a rap battle to ________ (number) true/false questions, and chase after the ________ (same small animal) into a tree.

You recover the pencil and forget all about your ________ (least favorite class) exam. Immediately you ran for the head honcho, the ________ (best rapper) of all tests, the ________ (major UNC basketball player) of all examinations. You don’t hold the pencil, the pencil holds you.

Bam! The pencil correctly answers the following question and the living tests ________ (verb).

a) Their rivalry with ________ (school with the wrong color blue).

b) The saying “Great Day to be a ________ (whatever you are).”

c) Having the best ________ (school department) in the country.

d) I’ve been trapped in the basement of Davis for three weeks and I’m bored of this Mad Lib. Also, the ________ (library object) keeps whispering obscenities at me.


Hurrah! The skies start to clear and ________ (campus celebrity) preaches love for once. The pencil you are holding ________ (verb), so that no one may use its powers for ________ (n. or verb). Chancellor ________ (presidential candidate) praises your heroism.

“For your service to ________ (place name), all your exams are ________ (adj.),” the chancellor ________ (past tense verb). All of a sudden, ________ (Beyoncé hit) played throughout the air and you fell upwards into the sky.

Next, you awaken in your ________ (where you speed your nights) and your Beyoncé ringtone is going off. The time is ________ (time) and you see that you are half-________ (adj.).

“I had the craziest dream!” ________ (male friend’s name) said. “You were there, but you left me. ________ (campus celebrity) saved me from rapping bluebooks and a scantron nearly ________ (verb) me! By the way, I got a(n) ________ (type of message) and our ________ (least favorite class) exam is cancelled for some reason!”
