North Carolina defensive end Robert Quinn said Tuesday that he is not involved with the possible academic misconduct between student-athletes and a former UNC mentor who was also employed by the Butch Davis family.
“I mean, I’ve worked with her, but I don’t have anything to do with that,” Quinn said.
Quinn has seen time with the scout team since a press conference on Aug. 26 revealed possible academic improprieties between players and the mentor.
Quinn did not say whether he would start against LSU on Saturday, but rather deflected that question to Davis. In his press conference on Monday, Davis referred to his depth chart as “fluid” and named only quarterback T.J. Yates as a starter for UNC on Saturday.
Yates said Monday that the investigation into academics affects the defense more than the offense, but declined to reveal how many players are involved.
