Maybe you thought summer ended when you arrived on campus a little over a month ago (like any normal, sane person would) but I’m here to inform you that you are straight up tripping.
According to the Farmer’s Almanac, you have until 4:21 a.m. on Sept. 23 to fulfill all of your lofty #Summer2K15 goals, because that is precisely when summer ends.
You may then proceed to cry about how cold the weather/reality is about to become and the embarrassing number of Pumpkin Spice Lattes you will probably consume in the coming months…weeks…hours…
Worried that you can’t fit everything you ever planned on doing this summer into the short amount of time you have left? Thinking that it’s probably smarter, easier, and more practical just to wait until next summer to do them?
Well, you’re not wrong.
But for those of you who actively and enthusiastically accept any challenge and want to make the most of the last legitimate summer night: this one’s for you.
Here’s a compilation of the best of the basic summer bucket lists from 2015 that, I believe, you can accomplish in the next few hours because this day should be celebrated (and mourned) appropriately:
Pick your summer anthem
This can (and will) haunt you for the rest of your life — choose wisely.
Go camping
Pitch a tent (which you probably casually have) outside somewhere and sleep under the stars. Maybe just spend the night in the Morehead Planetarium. That’s close enough.
Go on a road trip with friends
Basically just take a night ride on the P2P.
Make s'mores
No fire? Good! Because those probably aren’t safe to have on campus anyway. Don’t fret though, Hershey’s has your back with these cool, alternative microwave instructions.
Run through the sprinklers
You know, the ones that surprise attack you in the dead of night. It’ll be fun.
Read a good book
More like a good textbook, amirite?!? (This one is sponsored by that one professor you loathe.)
Make a really cool cake or dessert.
And maybe listen to this while you do.
Go to a drive thru movie.
Or maybe just watch a movie in general. Those are fun. I recommend Wet Hot American Summer.
Make a root beer float
Yes, this is worth a meal swipe in the dining hall.
Watch a sunrise/sunset
10/10 would recommend doing this all year long.
Happy Adventuring!
