It's that time of year again! With fall break rapidly approaching (only two days now y'all), no doubt you're all very excited to carve pumpkins, make Halloween costumes, go to haunted houses and throw cozy bonfire parties with friends...
Or not.
Why pretend to enjoy the outside world when you could follow my lead and never leave your amazingly comfy bed? Instead, entertain yourself from the wonderful solitude of your own pillow kingdom with these five things.
1. Netflix (and chill?)
Hello Netflix, my old friend. Build a blanket fort, grab your favorite cuddling partner, pop some popcorn and let yourself be absorbed by Disney movies, "Mean Girls," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," or whatever your heart desires. For bonus points, make hot chocolate with mini marshmallows.
2. Read a Book
"Wow, you're so sophisticated and smart" — all of your friends when they find out that you've read a book over break. Yours truly recommends "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr, a poetic historical fiction set in France during World War II. While interesting and thought-provoking, it's also classy enough to make you seem cultured and worldly while chilling in your pajamas. For those too lazy to actually read, listen to an audio book.
3. Explore the Universe
Inspired by "Guardians of the Galaxy" or "The Martian"? Head over to Google Sky and marvel at the stars and constellations that surround us. Feel free to make spaceship noises.
4. Browse Reddit
"The front page of the internet," as it's been called, Reddit is the original time-waster. Don't want to click through the links and read text? Head over to Imgur, Reddit's little brother with a picture-book-like format.
5. Online Shop
What better way to celebrate the changing of the seasons than by buying new stuff? Waste your precious money on cool items like this Oreo dunking spoon or these sword handle umbrellas. You could even buy a box of leaves for $20, because why not?
Happy Fall Break!
