Stolen Qdoba burrito recovered: best of January police reports

The Chapel Hill and Carrboro police reports are often a gold mine for odd crimes. Here are a few of the most interesting reports from the past month:

On Jan. 18, Qdoba was the victim of an unfathomable crime.

Someone trespassed at 100 W. Franklin St. at 2:20 a.m. Friday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The person stole a chicken burrito from Qdoba, valued at $7, reports state. The burrito was later recovered, according to reports.

On Jan. 16, someone was caught with stolen street signs from two different counties.

Someone was stopped for possessing stolen goods on N.C. Highway 54 at 12:47 a.m. Wednesday, according to Carrboro police reports.
The person had green street signs in his truck. The signs were taken from roads in Chatham and Orange counties off Jones Ferry Road, reports state.

On Jan. 24, someone stole an odd assortment of items from Food Lion.

Someone shoplifted and resisted arrest at Food Lion at 1129 Weaver Dairy Road between 8:28 p.m. and 8:32 p.m. Thursday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The person stole items including ginger root, cheddar cheese and Tylenol. Stolen items, which were recovered, were valued at $15.75, reports state.

On Jan. 25, someone stole a flag from Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and proceeded to run from police.

Someone stole items from Pi Kappa Phi fraternity at 216 E. Rosemary St. at 2:17 a.m. Friday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The person stole a flag and ran from a police officer, reports state.

On Jan. 29, two cans of stew were stolen from 1129 Weaver Dairy Road. One can was safely returned, but the other can wasn’t so lucky.

Someone shoplifted at 1129 Weaver Dairy Road at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The person stole two cans of stew, valued at $6 each. One of the cans was returned, reports state.

On Jan. 31, someone stole two credit cards, one debit card, and a flex spending card. Free swipes to Lenoir, anyone?

Someone stole credit and debit cards at 1800 E. Franklin St. between 3:45 p.m. and 8:11 p.m. Thursday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Stolen items included two credit cards, one debit card and a flex spending card, each valued at $1, reports state.
