Coon Rock Farm, located in Hillsborough is a family farm that strives to provide residents of Orange, Durham,and Wake counties with fresh produce, and humanely raised meats year round. Jamie DeMent and Richard Holcomb started Coon Rock Farm in 2004, the same year they started Zely and Ritz, a local Organic restaurant.
More than 200 UNC students took part in a recycling drive Thursday in celebration of America Recycles Day. The Office of Waste Reduction and Recycling, the Sustainability Office and EcoReps hosted a drive where students could donate their unwanted and recyclable items.

Dozens of residents spoke out against a new development plan that could put a big-box retail store in the town Wednesday night. At the Chapel Hill Town Council meeting, Scott Murray Land Planning, Inc. presented a concept plan for the Obey Creek development — which would be located off U.S. 15-501 across from Southern Village.
Fiesta Frog, a blog about popular college parties and bar specials, rated Top of the Hill as the 16th best college bar and hangout in the nation. Chapel Hill’s The Library, the only other ranked bar in town, placed 28th out of 50.
