Thanksgiving has come and gone, leaving us all with tighter fitting pants and a solid

One thing can make or break a party, and that is the music. Have you ever been to a fun party but the music was terrible and that killed your mood? I have. UNC graduate and hip-hop artist Lex Jordan — known on stages as Lexicon — has never had an issue distinguishing himself from a crowd. Friends and peers have oft described his talents, interests and fashion sense as eclectic — a description attached to Jordan since a scholarship allowed him to attend Cary Academy, while many of his friends were districted to high schools in South Raleigh.

Panicked students flip through notes in a last-ditch effort to absorb the material. The only open seat is in the middle of the normally-spacious 400-person lecture hall. That tiny foldable desk is where it happens — the final exam.

Aside from becoming an astronaut/actress/unicorn, my childhood self had only one dream: playing music. My life’s ultimate goal is to join a band, get big, go through a rockstar phase, break up, fade into obscurity and then live out the rest of my days in some sleazy New York City bar, reminiscing about the glory days.
