Diversity is an ideal that the students of the University hold dear. I urge them to recognize this cohort of diverse students that have been neglected. Until then, mixed students will be left with more questions than answers. What have we gained? What have we lost?
Given the regularity with which Confederate groups come to UNC’s campus — even armed sometimes — and the fact that one of their ranks is alleged to have committed this crime, it seems surprising that the University is not on more of a high alert in regards to the Unsung Founders Memorial.
