LSN, a part of the Heels Care Network, features undergraduate, graduate and professional student volunteers who can talk students through their concerns and questions as well as identify and recommend further resources.
The Carolina Engagement Week will consist of 34 events covering a variety of subjects, including pandemic-related issues, equity and inclusion, accessible education and more.
Morrison is the only dormitory to have solar panel installations, as well as real-time energy consumption monitors. But the Renewable Energy Special Projects Committee has been working on other solar panel projects that will be implemented for new buildings around campus. “Currently there are plans to use panels that generate electricity at Carolina North and Curtis Media Center, which are both under construction,” said Cindy Register, executive director of engineering and construction services. “A large solar footprint is also planned at the Kenan-Flagler Business School addition, which is still in the design phase.”
Libraries with changes to operational hours include Davis Library, the Undergraduate Library and the Health Sciences Library.
UNC campus recreation centers are offering a new check-in system called MorphoWave that allows students to check into facilities using only their hands. “You don’t have to have your ID with you and worry about putting it in a locker,” Goa said. “The feedback we’ve gotten from students that are utilizing them has been very very positive.”
From keeping up with hobbies to staying safe during the ongoing pandemic, UNC students have plenty of goals for the spring 2022 semester.
The club hosts events over the course of the semester, including cruises where club members drive around Chapel Hill and watch parties for professional F1 car races.
The $3.5 million grant from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative is for a project entitled “Mapping the Pediatric Inhalation Interface: Nose, Mouth and Airways,” which will contribute to the global Human Cell Atlas. Project collaborators include six UNC faculty members.
