Enough. Just enough. Politics on campus have gotten out of hand. Well, at least among those who are active in campus political and activism groups.
While the hottest political talk continues to be centered around Donald Trump’s every move, my columns have been directed to addressing the policy and the platforms, as well as motives of various actors.
North Carolina Republicans have found themselves in a race. Not a race involving Roy Cooper or Hillary Clinton, but a race against the clock.
When this campaign season began, I expected that there were going to be plenty of issues discussed. Arguments regarding the economy, criminal justice and cybersecurity were just some of what I was anticipating.
As the cliche goes, just when you think things cannot get any worse, something comes along to prove you wrong.
If you look at my voter information, you can see I am a registered Republican. While it would be simple to call me a member of the Grand Old Party, it would also be an incorrect label.
The last month has been an eventful one in both campus and American politics.
When the news regarding the terrorist attacks in Paris broke Friday, many were shocked. With the death toll growing above 100 and details emerging on exactly how these people were killed, it was not clear how fathomable these attacks were.
Iam a proud Southerner. I grew up listening to The Allman Brothers Band and attending NASCAR races. Thanks to my dad, I watch more Georgia Bulldogs football than I do Tar Heels basketball, knowing the only things worse than Duke are Auburn and Florida.
