The press was donated to UNC by the Peterson family. Davis Library hopes to develop a mechanism for students to sign up to use the printing press with their instructors in the spring.
According to a 2021 study in the Women in Sport and Physical Activity Journal, only 6 percent of sports and exercise science research published between 2014 and 2020 centered on women specifically.
"We're developing community," said Annie Lundeen, the program coordinator for the International Student and Scholar Services. The festival aimed to introduce international students to American traditions and holidays.
