Give Carolina Fever a Chance
By Casey Privette | October 9In February of 1999, I was asked by then Carolina Athletic Association presidential candidate Tee Pruitt to "light a fire under Fever's ass." Tee felt that Carolina Fever had been apathetic in the past year, and I had to agree. So I thought long and hard: "How exactly do I get a bunch of students to stand and cheer?" The answer was in fact quite obvious: Make them an offer they can't refuse. Or, in other words, reward them for their effort. So I asked Tee to make our block at basketball games bigger and better.
