“People all over the world know about UNC because of the training, research and the evaluation work we do, and a lot of it is funded through USAID," public policy professor Sudhansha Handa said.
The week will consist of 48 events, with a variety of virtual, hybrid and in-person event options. Some programming will be held by UNC undergraduates, with others run by community members and partners.
The bells used to be rung by students deemed Master Ringers. Now, the chimes are pre-programmed to play.

Conway Scholars in the UNC School of Nursing said the scholarship allowed them to focus on their education and preparing for work after graduation.
The MakerSpace, an area dedicated to being a creative outlet for students, can now be found in UNC's Undergraduate Library. The location will offer creative workshops, individual consultations and assistance for research projects.
For almost 30 years, FallFest has given students the opportunity to see old friends and new faces. The event, which was held after new student convocation has also served as a way for student organizations to gain exposure across the campus community.
If approved by the full board on May 23, changes to the UNC Policy Manual would update current minimum GPA and standardized test score requirements for applicants for admission, which were temporarily waived until 2024 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
