Theta Nu Xi selects pageant king

Minutes before the start of the inaugural Mr. Theta Nu Xi pageant Monday night, contestant Gerard Anthony explained multiculturalism as "putting yourself in a position where you might not feel comfortable." At the end of the night, Anthony stood on stage with an oversized paper crown and an enormous smile on his face, looking distinctly comfortable.

Masala brings world culture to campus

Students passing by the Pit at lunchtime Monday could ink a little culture onto themselves with a henna tattoo or have their name rendered in Chinese or Farsi. Masala, a coalition of UNC multicultural organizations, offered the body decorations to launch its annual week of promotional events with an arts and crafts table.
