Within the last year, detectable levels of lead were discovered in at least one fixture of 125 buildings on UNC’s campus. Some students said they want greater transparency from the University on the continued severity of the contamination.
UNC Environment, Health and Safety is continuing to remediate drinking water fixtures at the University that have tested positive for lead. Some students say there was a lack of communication about the lead problem from Carolina Housing.

This Friday, the UNC Pakistan Society will hold the Basant Festival — a celebration of the arrival of spring through flying traditional Pakistani kites. Ardith Burkes has joined the Eshelman School of Pharmacy as an embedded counselor through Counseling and Psychological Services. She will work as a resource for students within the school. “Wellness is so much more than just academics,” she said.
A unanimous N.C. Court of Appeals panel ruled Tuesday that a trial court had made the correct ruling in dismissing Dieckhaus v. UNC Board of Governors. The case refers to unused student fees in the spring 2020 semester.
