This year’s summer reading book selection is a moving memoir, Picking Cotton.After forming a very unlikely friendship, Jennifer Thompson-Cannino and Ronald Cotton have shared their story with the world.Thompson-Cannino, who was raped when she was a college student, picked 22-year-old Ronald Cotton out of a physical line-up as her assailant.
“Learn from every single being, experience, and moment. What joy it is to search for lessons and goodness and enthusiasm in others.”Those words were written by former Student Body President Eve Carson in a letter to a graduating friend. They have now been carved into a marble wall, one of several items to be unveiled at 4 p.m. today during the dedication of the Eve Marie Carson Garden.
