Students, alumni recount memorable snow days

David Boliek was appointed to the Board of Trustees by the UNC System Board of Governors, while Brad Briner was appointed by the N.C. General Assembly. Both will step down from the BOT before they are sworn into state office.
“I’m the type of person that thrives when I have a lot on my plate,” Duvall said. “I like when I have a full schedule, I like when I’m busy, and that makes me the most productive.”
“I hope that it reminds her that she does make a difference every day she shows up, and that we’re all so grateful to have her on our campus,” sophomore Hannah Benson said, after creating a GoFundMe to help Sherita Baker and her husband do something special for their upcoming one-year wedding anniversary.
Boliek runs for auditor even with current BOT position.
“Every system is a little hard to navigate at first, but you can figure it out,” UNC junior and new transfer student Layal Lawandos said. “Yes, it might be more challenging here. Yes, you might have to work a little bit harder, but you have figured this out before.”
Senior Assassin is an annual competition in which members of the senior class try to eliminate other participants by spraying them with water guns. “We’re getting older and about to enter the real world and playing a fun game like this kind of makes you feel young again,” Zoe Durland, a UNC senior, said.
The fraternity is hoping to bring even more awareness to the work of Duke Children’s Hospital and Health Center in Durham this year. All proceeds raised from the event, from ticket sales to donations, go directly to the hospital and its patients.
The UNC Faculty Council met recently to talk through various University updates, efforts and issues.
North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein’s office filed a lawsuit against Juul Labs concerning their marketing tactics in 2019. Now, UNC's University Libraries has partnered with the University of California, San Francisco to create an online public depository containing millions of documents concerning the settlement.
