With the No. 1 UNC women's lacrosse team losing just five games over the last four years, this group of graduating senior Tar Heels might just be the best Chapel Hill has ever seen.
For the first time since April 20, 2018, the No. 1 Tar Heels lost a regular season dual match, falling 5-2 in front of a packed Ambler Tennis Stadium at No. 9 Duke on Friday night.

“We pressed a bit offensively when he made nine saves in the first quarter and took the wind out of our sails,” UNC head coach Joe Breschi said. “Sometimes you hit a hot goalie at the wrong time, and that’s what today was.”
Four Tar Heel sports venues — Carmichael Arena, the Kenan Football Center, the Finley Golf Course and the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center — are all scheduled to be upgraded by late summer 2023.
“Every game on our schedule is on there for a reason, and all of our non-conference games are against teams that compete for their conference championship,” head coach Jenny Levy said.
A three-run home run to left centerfield and a walk-off bomb in the bottom of the ninth helped the No. 15 North Carolina baseball team (13-2, 2-0 ACC) battle its way to a Saturday afternoon victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers (8-6, 0-2), winning 4-3 to clinch the series in its ACC opening weekend.

“It’s our sport, Friday and Sunday, no matter who you’re wrestling, we expect the same of our guys every time,” head coach Coleman Scott said. “We've got to take it personal. We want to win every time we step foot on the mat.”
