UNC researchers Dr. David Martinez and Dr. Ralph Baric, in the Gillings School of Global Public Health, developed a new universal coronavirus vaccine. Their product has the potential to protect against multiple coronaviruses, as well as the different variants of COVID-19.
On July 1, Patricia Parker will enter her role as the director of the Institute of the Arts and Humanities. Parker will be the first Black woman to enter this role. Parker said she is looking forward to the ways that she can serve the UNC community. "I just see it as a distinct honor for me to lead the IAH at this time at this critical time in our nation's history," said Parker. "And I don't take that responsibility lightly."
