Senator Issues 'Call to Justice' to UNC
By James McGee | February 19U.S. Sen. Paul Wellstone, D-Minn., shared his views Monday about the need for the government to take an active role in improving the lives of Americans during a speech at the School of Law. Wellstone, a UNC alumnus who graduated with a doctorate in political science in 1969, spoke to about 80 people -- most of whom were law students -- as part of the law school's William P. Murphy lecture series. In a loud, aggressive voice, Wellstone issued a "call to justice" to audience members, challenging them to improve education and other social services.
