This is UNC's fifth national title in six years and the 11th in program history.
North Carolina will look to end Northwestern's 21-game winning streak through stout defense and penalty corner execution.
“Another thing we’ve worked on all season is dictating the game and gauging the press,” head coach Erin Matson said. “Teams can come at us. That’s fine, let them. We will play against, we’ll outsmart them.”
