The Daily Tar Heel spoke to three Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools principals following National Principals Month in October. Principals Pamela McAllister, Stacie Boyer, and Marny Ruben voiced their goals, struggles, and commitments to their students and communities.
The N.C. State Board of Elections has already approved UNC student and employee IDs for the ongoing municipal election, so UNC One Cards count as a valid form of voter ID.
The federal grant will aid in the distribution of conservation easements in the Neuse River Basin. Evan Davis, the director of farmland preservation at the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, said the main goal of implementing these easements is to maintain the agricultural capability of properties.
“My one particular goal that I always focus on that's kind of been my driving force is to make sure that everyone is welcome in our spaces, make sure that everyone feels like they are part of our overall vision,” Cherry said.
When the Safe Routes to School plan was first adopted in 2010, it only applied to McDougle and Carrboro elementary schools. Now, Morris Grove Elementary School and McDougle Middle School will also adopt the plan using the new NCDOT grant money.
