For the upcoming May 17 primary election, Orange County voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballot for several federal, state, county and local positions. Eligible registered voters have three options for voting — in-person on election day, in-person early voting and through an absentee ballot.
SROs are law enforcement officers placed in schools with the goal of creating and maintaining safe, secure and orderly learning environments for students, teachers and staff. The task force's findings have not been finalized yet, but options for alternatives include adding to or replacing the current SRO program in the district.
The North Carolina Teaching Fellows program selected 119 students for its 2022 class of fellows. Those who accept their offers will receive financial support and attend one of the program's eight partner schools in the state.
