With 96 million visitors per month — including some students who use the platform for assignments — there is concern about ChatGPT's potential role in academic dishonesty and plagiarism.

The UNC School of Medicine was recently selected as a Regional Emerging Special Pathogen Treatment Center (RESPTC) by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In this capacity, UNC Hospitals will have one of 13 centers across the country equipped to treat new, dangerous and highly transmissible pathogens like ebola and monkeypox.
UNC Senior Ben Gleiter is raising money for his mom, Kathleen Gleiter, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at the age of 54. Parkinson’s disease is a progressive disorder that affects the nervous system. “I try to make an impact on not only (my mom's) life specifically but the lives of people with Parkinson's in general," Ben Gleiter said. "Because after learning first-hand, it is definitely a difficult disease, and it’s important to give people the resources they need to combat it.”
UNC student organized MoMUNtum was co-founded by UNC students, Patrick Kaper-Barcelata and Mikhal “Mimi” Ben-Joseph, in the summer of 2020. The co-founders recently applied for the Taco Bell Ambition Accelerator grant, which is open for anyone ages 16-26 to submit innovative ideas and projects for social change.
The EPA selected UNC because of the application’s emphasis on reduced energy, the brewing industry’s impact on climate change, their partnership with the Brewers Association and the need for monetary resources to finance P2 upgrades.
