UNC had two goalscoring chances in the first 20 minutes of play from the lateral edges of the box, but it was the Panthers who scored first in their first true offensive chance they had 25 minutes into the game.
Friday’s 4-3 victory over Princeton revealed that UNC Field Hockey’s team is moving past the bitter end of November’s NCAA Tournament and last season’s underwhelming results. North Carolina’s expectations for this season remain high as head coach Karen Shelton strives to return her team to national glory this year.
The team will be traveling to South Bend, Indiana to play a three-game series against No. 24 Notre Dame. The Tar Heels' first game is scheduled for April 22 at 5 p.m.
