Disaster lecture series begins Tuesday
By Nicol Lukosius | March 28Orange County residents will have the opportunity to learn more about natural and human-made disasters thanks to a four-part lecture series sponsored by the county's health department. The first lecture in the series begins at 6:30 p.m. today at the Southern Human Services Center on Homestead Road. "We get funding from the state and part of the contract is to provide education to the public," said Carla Julian, county public health emergency preparedness coordinator. "The lectures are also to keep Medical Reserve Corps volunteers engaged by keeping them educated."
