North Carolina is 1-5 against ranked opponents this season and may go a third straight season without an NCAA tournament appearance.
“I think as you start a new season with the ACC, everything’s sitting right in front of you," head coach Joe Breschi said, "and that’s why you have these competitive out-of-conference games to help prepare you."
Following their win, the Tar Heels return to Dorrance Field on Saturday and will face their challenge of the year, facing No. 1 Northwestern at 4:30 p.m.
If there’s anything North Carolina men’s lacrosse head coach Joe Breschi knows from his 34 years of coaching lacrosse, it’s that you can’t teach experience.
“It’s BS, it’s time for it to be enough,” senior guard Deja Kelly said. “It should’ve been enough a game ago, and the game before that and the game before that. I think we just need more people with a different mentality — like a killer mentality.”
The No. 7 North Carolina men’s basketball team (13-3, 5-0 ACC) defeated Syracuse (11-5, 2-3 ACC) on Saturday, winning 103-67 and keeping its undefeated record in the ACC.
There’s an exodus happening in Chapel Hill.
“I’m just really happy for [RJ],” Hubert Davis said. “I feel like this is the first time that he’s being celebrated, supported, encouraged, and noticed and I love it.”
“Deja is a dog,” senior forward Alyssa Ustby said. “That girl will do anything for her teammates."
