Killers Deserve Life Behind Bars
By Patrick Frye | December 8To begin where T.L. Moua ended ("Abolishing the Death Penalty Removes Individual Autonomy" Dec. 4), his recantation of Kant has little bearing. I can make the argument equally well that because people must accept the costs of their decisions, killers must go to jail for the remainder of their natural lives. Moua wrongly assumes that the cost of murder must be execution -- that it is somehow proportionate and therefore natural. Do we rape rapists or steal from thieves?
