During spring break, students from School of Civic Life and Leadership 190: Courageous Conversations: Israel and Palestine on Campus visited various locations throughout Israel and Palestine including Tel Aviv, Jaffa, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Beit Sahour.
The Student Advocacy Network, founded by 15 student advisors in the Office of Student Conduct, hopes to increase the number of students who seek counsel when faced with charges in the new staff-led Conduct Board System.
“I look forward to seeing the smiles of people as I pass them by,” UNC sophomore Nathan Feldman said. “I look forward to seeing people respond on the posts, ‘Yes king, slay.’”
The Order of the Golden Fleece, one of the oldest honor societies at UNC, currently has its nomination form open for student trailblazers who are committed to the Order's goal of campus unity. Accepted members will be tapped in later this semester.
“It's kind of in our own hands to establish those systems for ourselves and really lean on each other,” UNC African Student Association President Ruth Uzochukwu said.
The class and trip will be filmed as a part of the "Courageous Conversations" documentary series by The Nantucket Project.
Police officers made 39 arrests following the Gaza Solidarity Encampment in April on Polk Place. District Attorney Jeff Nieman dismissed the eight remaining cases in December.
With the announcement of the second Morehead-Cain Sophomore Selection Scholars, questions have been raised about the equity of the application process.
The student organization released a statement following the week of Oct. 7, when students with disabilities were unable to access some building entrances and exits.
Sophomore Landon Cable and other UNC students with testing accommodations said the Equal Opportunity and Compliance Office Testing Center should improve its systems to adequately meet students' needs.
