The library is named for Robert Drakeford, Carrboro's first Black mayor. His son, Derrick Drakeford, spoke about his father's mentorship and impact on the community.
The fund, created in partnership with UNC Health and Self-Help Ventures Fund, is expected to get developers quicker access to resources and funding.
